Fantasy Mercenary - Concept Art

My idea for this character came from imagining what a mercenary in a medieval fantasy universe would look like but from the perspective of current utilitarian military trends.

A lot of my focus was put into designing the character's equipment, most of which went into the so-called "Switch Crossbow" (4). The crossbow folds out and draws itself when the lever is pulled. The lever is also made to function as an extended pair of knuckles, for close-range offensive use when the crossbow isn't drawn or loaded. I also thought it would be interesting if the gadget offered some defence, so I attached a buckler on top of it. The satchel on the characters back (3) carries different kinds of ammo depending on what is required of the situation. So far there is a standard bolt, a lightning bolt inspired by tasers and a smoke cloud bolt.

I'm still pretty inexperienced when it comes to making concept art, so feedback would be appreciated!
